US State Department official visits Kosovo


Susan A. Falatko, Deputy Director of Office of South Central European Affairs, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at United States Department of State is visiting Kosovo when she met senior state officials.
Kosovo prime minister Ramush Haradinaj after meeting Falatko said that they have discussed on increase of cooperation between Kosovo and its strategic partners for reaching a final agreement with Serbia. According to Haradinaj, during the meeting it was discussed on potential mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia under existing borders. The meeting was attended also by the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Philip Kosnett.
The State Department official met also with Kosovo president Hashim Thaci to discuss the process of normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as on the rule of law in Kosovo. “Kosovo is committed to strengthening of good neighborly relations. The dialogue should resume without any condition, with a consensual support of all quint countries,” Thaci said adding that the United States role is irreplaceable. Falatko said that the US remains committed to advancing bilateral and regional interests, according to a press release issued by Thaci’s press service.
